Week of 2/8/10 — Training Summary

The Overview
Week 13 of the OutSeason happened, but didn’t really happen for me. Cumulative lack of sleep, despite two good nights this past week, has really taken it’s toll. I started with the best of intentions, but finished pretty weakly…I am just training to get training done. The only main set I am worried about is my sleep vDOT!

Body Comp Update: Been a bit higher this week; odd work cycles = poor food choices to keep myself awake and up to get all the stuff done I need to do. I stuck to a lighter binge b/c I had been less than stellar all week. Even postponed my celebratory chocolate stout until next week as I have done quite little to deserve it. Probably up between 178-180…need to get focused!

The Workouts

Monday — Monday run in hills for 7.5 miles @ 7:00/mi pace including 3 miles at TP. #workworks

Tuesday — 40′ trainer as 2 x 12′, 1 x 6′ @ 328, pooped, .955 IF.

Wednesday — 40′ on treadmill with 2.5 miles @ 6:15 pace

Thursday — 2 x 10′ @ 330, 325 then 15′ at .87 for total IF of .905.

Friday — Trainer: 6 x 2′ at 375, then steady state. total ride of 1:15 with a .901 IF.

Saturday — Run on Cape as 7.5 miles at 7:09 pace avg. Took a long time to get warmed up in all this snow!

Sunday — Repeat of Sat run for 7.5 miles, only at 7:05 pace.

Stats Summary for the Week

Weight: 179… lack of sleep = excess of eating. bummed.

FTP: Am thinking 330 or even 325 is more reasonable estimate; current low mental state could be combination of sleep deprivation and chasing an elevated FTP.

vDOT: 55.

CTL: 60.3 TSS/day down from 61.4 TSS/day so no really changes…hoping to sort out the fatigue pretty soon.

TSB: -3.7 TSB (prev as -2.1). Still not where I want it to be but at least holding steady!
