Thermometer Follow Up…

After writing yesterday’s post on gear selection and weather widgets, gadgets, and do-hickeys, I have something to confess: I have an old-school gadget in my house. As much as I like to be forward-thinking with new technology, etc., there’s something to be said for a tool that just gets the job done.

The RadioShack Indoor/Outdoor thermometer (under $20) is my tool of choice. I really like the wired element that I pass through a window to the outdoors – no wireless things that (a) can get freaky and (b) can be placed somewhere that I won’t remember. Even more important, I like the single display that shows indoor and outdoor temperatures simultaneously. Knowing the outdoor temp is nice, but knowing the difference between where I am and where I am going is even more important to me. And it’s less than $20. Just can’t beat it.
