Note: Folks, another do-as-I-say/not-as-I-do lesson here for everyone. File this one under “Shoulda Known Better.”
As a web-worker who lives online most of my day, I am pretty on top of the whole back up your data thing. In addition to a LaCie external hard drive (200GB), I also installed Mozy‘s Mac client to regularly back up my personal data. Every since I switched to running Parallels on my Mac, giving me access to MS Windoze while running my Mac machine, I have been putting my workout data into the PC side of my Mac; not a separate PC (can you see where this is headed?).
Well, last week when my hard drive crashed, I had back ups of all of my data except…you guessed it…the last 3+ years of power files!!! Holy shimoly (and a few other choice words were all I could think of). Not that I need that data to train, but it’s really “nice to have” as I get fitter/faster. Total bummer.
So to sum up today’s lesson, campers, don’t be like Coach P….back that training data up!!!!
ps – Many of you have noticed my extended leave from posting. It’s for the best reason possible — baby girl #2, Emma Jude, joined our family on 5/8/08!!! As a stay-at-home dad, this means we have had some serious quality time…and as you can tell from this site, family wins! Here’s a quick baby pic or two!

Hi, I'm Patrick McCrann.
