I wanted to let you know about a innovative and unique off-season training opportunity I’m offering through Endurance Nation ( www.endurancenation.us). We’re calling this program ENGroups, these are the highlights:
- Oct 8 through Feb 3
- Training schedule issued via a shared Google Doc.
- You’ll be able to view the entire schedule on Day 1 but we plan to modify and republish the schedule based on the feedback of the participants.
- Bike and run training focused, whenever possible, on the objective measurements of power and pace. If you don’t have a powermeter, we will encourage you to use timed courses, hill climbs, etc. Run training will closely follow the methods of Jack Daniels, ie, defining training zones by pace vs heart rate. Use of a GPS for your run training is highly recommended. If you don’t have one you’ll be encouraged to use measured courses, etc, for your quality workouts.
- Support via a closed forum at Endurance Nation
- A weekly podcast by Rich Strauss and I where we will issue your weekly goals, additional guidance, discuss issues and concerns we see, and in general keep your head screwed on straight.
- Additional networking opportunities provided through the Endurance Nation platform which should be live shortly. Think Facebook for endurance athletes.
