H is for Haiti
Dear Reader -
As you know by now, Haiti was slammed by a massive earthquake earlier this week. Only now is the real impact of the disaster being felt…today (Friday), the first death toll estimates started coming out. Ballpark is 50,000 dead. And the survivors aren’t much better off (yet).
There’s tons of important work to be done in the coming days, weeks and months…and you can help make a difference. I have created a Run Challenge Project (http://runforhaiti.wordpress.com/) to benefit Partners in Health, an international nonprofit with over two decades of experience working in Haiti.
It’s very simple. You can help either by joining the “team” of 40 athletes committed to raising $2500 and running a mile for every $100 raised…all on Monday, January 18th, 2010. (sign up here, takes 5 minutes)
Or you can help promote the project by sending the link to the page to your friends and network, or by joining the Facebook Group or any other way you can think of doing it.
Every little bit helps and can make a significant impact. Do your part.
Thanks!
Patrick
